Todd Sherwin
MA, LPC, LPC-S, LMFT, First West Counseling Center Director
Todd joined the First West Counseling Center team in 2002 and serves as Director. He holds a Master of Arts in Counseling from Louisiana Tech University. Todd is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), an LPC Supervisor (LPC-S), and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Todd provides counseling to adults and couples for a wide range of issues through individual counseling and family therapy. In his spare time, Todd enjoys various outdoor pursuits, sports, and spending time with his wife and two children.

Office Manager
Taylor joined the First West Counseling Center team in 2018 and serves as the Office Manager. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Louisiana State University. In her spare time, Taylor enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and dog.

Mark DeBord
LCSW, Social Worker
Mark joined the First West Counseling Center team in 2005. He holds a Masters in Social Work from Louisiana State University. He retired from the LA Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) where he worked for 31 years. Mark completed the Associate Fellow (1992) and supervisory requirements of the Albert Ellis Institute (1996) and uses REBT in his clinical work. He is a Board Approved Supervisor (BACS) for licensure as an LCSW and is available to provide supervision. Additionally, he is a Certified Trainer with Better Outcomes Now – Partners for Change Outcome Management System (PCOMS) and is available to provide training and implementation consultation. Mark is our on-site insurance option and accepts most major insurances. In his spare time, he enjoys golf, participating in and leading Bible Study, and time with his family.

Andrew Stephens
MA, LPC, LMFT, NCC, Counselor
Andrew joined the First West Counseling Center team in 2016. He holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisiana Monroe. Andrew is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Andrew provides counseling to adults and teens through individual counseling and family therapy. In addition to his role at First West Counseling Center, Andrew works full-time as a Clinical Therapist at the Methodist Children’s Home. In his spare time, Andrew enjoys spending time with his family, watching movies, and playing guitar.

C.J. joined the First West Counseling Center team in 2010. He holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Northeast Louisiana University. C.J. is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). In addition to counseling, C.J. works full-time as a Patrol Supervisor and Public Information Officer with the West Monroe Police Department. In his spare time, C.J. enjoys spending time with his family and being active in his local church.

Stephen Fife
PLPC
Stephen joined the First West Counseling Center team in 2019. He is ordained as a minister in The United Methodist Church. Stephen holds a Masters of Divinity from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health from Adams State University. He is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC). Stephen provides counseling and spiritual direction to adults, couples, and children for a wide range of issues. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with his wife and children.

Kaitlin Ganey
PLPC
Kaitlin joined the First West Counseling Center team in 2021. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Kaitlin is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and she provides counseling to children, teens, and adults through individual, couples, and family therapy. In her spare time, Kaitlin enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her family and two dogs, cooking healthy meals, reading, and lifting weights.

Marsha McGee
PhD, LPC, Project HELP Counselor
Marsha joined the First West Counseling Center team in 2009. She holds master’s degrees from both Mississippi State University and the University of Louisiana Monroe as well as a Ph.D. from the University of Kentucky. Marsha works with our Project HELP team providing counseling to elementary students. In her spare time, Marsha enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, and reading.

Jana Hutzler
MS, School-Based Ministries Director
Jana Hutzler is the Director of School-Based Ministries for First West. She has been with First West Counseling Center since 2008 where she developed and implemented Project HELP, a school-based counseling, life skills, and parenting initiative. Jana project directed the OPSB 21st-Century Community Learning Centers Grant (2013 -2016) in partnership with Broaden Horizons. Presently Jana oversees the daily operations and partnership development with local churches and businesses for the 3 school-based ministries at First West – Broaden Horizons, Kids Hope, and Project HELP. She is happily married to Charles Hutzler and together they have 4 adult children and 6 grandchildren.

Susan McMillian
MS, PLPC
Susan McMillian is a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and provides counseling to individuals, adults, couples, and families. Susan holds a Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling from Capella University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision. She is a retired police officer and was a trained negotiator and member of the Crisis Intervention Team, CIT. Susan is an advocate for mental health and wellness for first responders and promotes proactive methods of reducing symptoms of PTSD and related disorders. She is trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD), Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) and, Eye Movement Desensitization, and Reprocessing (EMDR). In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, genealogy research, and spending time with family.
